Meet Alicia Smith, IGNITE's New York Fellow

Alicia Smith is IGNITE's Fellows Program Director.

Alicia holds a master’s degree from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from CUNY York College. She has a passion for helping community members identify needs, design interventions, and implement strategies designed at improving the quality of life for all individuals within that community. Alicia is also committed to empowering the next generation to become civically engaged. First as Fellowship Manager and now as Fellowship Director, Alicia hopes to assist individuals tap into their hidden potential and become effective change agents.

IGNITE is a national movement of young women who are ready and eager to become the next generation of political leaders. As a nonpartisan 501c3, IGNITE builds political ambition in high school and college-aged young women in their own communities. IGNITE provides civic education, exposure to women in political leadership, hands-on training, career opportunities, and a peer network of women who support and nurture each other’s aspirations for civic and political leadership.
