What is an IGNITE Trailblazer Ambassador?

Trailblazer Ambassadors are committed supporters who help IGNITE reach and excite a new audience of supporters. Ambassadors connect IGNITE with folks in their networks and agree to leverage those relationships to help achieve our fundraising and thought leadership goals.

Broadly, Ambassadors champion IGNITE’s mission, serve as spokespeople for IGNITE, share IGNITE’s work with their networks of friends and colleagues, and connect IGNITE to new funders.

What are the responsibilities of an IGNITE Trailblazer Ambassador?

Trailblazer Ambassadors:

Provide a testimonial about why they support IGNITE and are recognized on our website, on social media, in newsletters and in proposals within the comfort level of each Ambassador. Testimonials are not simply for recognition purposes, but leveraged as compelling stories of why new audiences should support IGNITE.
Raise awareness about IGNITE's impact, and regularly talk about our work to their communities of influence.
Act as fundraising strategists who share new opportunities and provide feedback on prospect lists, campaign opportunities, and messaging.
Make at least five new viable connections for IGNITE each year.

Additionally, Trailblazer Ambassadors commit to at least 2 of the following activities over the course of the year:

Invite IGNITE’s CEO, staff members, or board members to events with opportunities to meet major donors.
Host 1:1 meetings with IGNITE staff and new prospective donors.
Host a house party.
Serve on a host committee for an IGNITE fundraising event.
Secure strategic speaking opportunities for IGNITE.
Lead a peer to peer fundraising campaign.
Make corporate connections and/or host events with their company.

IGNITE staff will work in partnership with each Ambassador to plan events that meet stated goals and objectives.

What is the time commitment to serve as an IGNITE Trailblazer Ambassador?

Ambassadors serve for a minimum of one year. A virtual kickoff meeting and training will be held in early 2023. After the virtual kickoff meeting Ambassadors check in quarterly with IGNITE staff to strategize. IGNITE will recognize and celebrate Ambassadors at an event in June 2023.

IGNITE will recognize Ambassadors on the platform of their choosing -- options include: on IGNITE’s website, social media channels, at in-person events, and/or as a donor spotlight in newsletters.
An IGNITE swag bag, including conversation-starting items like t-shirts, tote bags, fanny packs, and masks.
Opportunities to build meaningful relationships with IGNITE participants, elected officials, and policymakers in our network.
Exclusive access to our CEO, Board of Directors, industry thought leaders -- as well as insider information on our innovative research and programming.
Invitations to our signature in-person events.
