Emily Quick Schriver
Matriots Chief Executive Officer
Emily Quick Schriver, is the CEO of The Matriots, an organization dedicated to advancing women’s equal participation in all aspects of political life in Ohio. The Matriots has three missions: to endorse women running for office, to encourage women to leverage their political power, and to advocate for women-friendly policies. Prior to joining The Matriots in 2021, Emily worked in law and public policy at state, federal, and international levels.
Emily holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Business from The Ohio State University. She is a recipient of the Collaborate Cleveland Changemaker Award, Columbus Business First 40-Under40 award, the Reynoldsburg City Schools Alumni Award, and the National Association of College & University Attorneys First Decade Award.
Raised in Central Ohio, she now lives in the Columbus area.
Munira Abdullahi
Ohio State Representative, District 09
State Representative Munira Yasin Abdullahi grew up in Columbus and receiving her Bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from The Ohio State University. She began her public service career working in a nonprofit, advocating for and promoting youth development, leadership, and community service.
As a person with type-1 diabetes, Munira is passionate about affordable healthcare. She aims to ensure all citizens have access to vital medications, medical attention, and rehabilitation without financial burden. Her other policy passions include equitable education and community-building infrastructure in conjunction with affordable housing.
HAWA SOW
Ohio Campus Organizer
Hawa Sow serves as the Ohio Campus Organizer for IGNITE National. Hawa is currently enrolled in a dual undergraduate and graduate program at The Ohio State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public policy and a master’s degree in public administration.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio to two hardworking Senegalese immigrants, Hawa brings lived experiences and love of learning have shaped her commitment to advancing social equity and justice, with a particular focus on immigration and mass incarceration.
