Julisa Morones Luna - Headshot

Julisa is a senior at the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) majoring in Justice and Social Policy, and serving as President of the Student Government Association and as the Founder and President of the university’s IGNITE chapter. Through these roles, she has organized voter registration drives, leadership development programs, community service projects, and events that promote civic participation and student engagement. Julisa has also volunteered with nonprofit organizations, participated in community outreach initiatives, built partnerships that connect students with civic and professional opportunities, and recently completed an internship with the Texas Department of Insurance. In recognition of her commitment to community engagement and civic leadership, she was selected as a Newman Civic Fellow and as an Up to Us Leadership Fellow. 

A first-generation college student, Julisa is passionate about public service, civic engagement, and advancing equitable policies that empower communities. She believes meaningful leadership begins with listening, serving others, and creating opportunities for those whose voices are often overlooked. Driven by integrity, resilience, and a deep commitment to public service, Julisa aspires to build a career that bridges law, public policy, and community advocacy. She is dedicated to creating lasting change through servant leadership, informed policymaking, and a lifelong commitment to strengthening communities and expanding access to justice for all.
