Join IGNITE and other young leaders from across the state for a full day of advocacy at the California state capitol. You'll learn how to amplify your voice, advocate for the issues you care most about and make a real impact. You have the power to make a difference and together we'll fight for a better tomorrow!

IGNITE is a nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit training young women-identifying, non-binary and gender expansive youth unleash their political power. IGNITE the Capitol is our flagship advocacy program designed as a hands-on training at the state capitol that introduces the ins-and-outs of legislative advocacy, connects young changemakers, and organizes meetings with state legislators.

At IGNITE the Capitol, you’ll gain the tools, training, and confidence to harness your political power, shape policy agendas, and advocate for impactful legislation in your state. Together, we’ll meet with legislators and legislative aides at the State Capitol, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your concerns and vision with your elected leaders. During this advocacy day, you will:
  • Learn the importance of engaging with your legislators.
  • Discover how to use effective advocacy strategies and actively participate in the legislative process.
  • Support state-specific bills that advance women's rights, voting rights, and civic education through direct meetings with lawmakers.

What is IGNITE?

IGNITE is a national movement of young cis and trans women, nonbinary and gender expansive people, ready and eager to become the next generation of civic and political leaders. Since our inception in 2010, IGNITE has become the largest, most diverse political leadership organization in America mobilizing Gen Z women with sustained community-based training and support to unleash their civic and political power. We train our participants to make a long-lasting impact on their communities

Who attends ITCs?

IGNITE the Capitol events are held to educate students from as early as middle-school to college-aged on their civic power and political potential as advocates for state and national legislation.

is IGNITE affiliated with a political party? 

As a nonpartisan nonprofit organization, IGNITE will be structuring the Summit to operate independent of party affiliation. All activities, workshops, and content will be tailored to support attendees from a nonpartisan lens at they discover the tools and skills  they need to mobilize their communities to vote.
