IGNITE the Capitol: California Advocacy Day 2022

Learn to leverage your political power for policy change. At the 2022 IGNITE the Capitol California day of advocacy, amplify your voice to advocate for issues you care about most.

About IGNITE the Capitol

Join IGNITE to voice your concerns and visions to your elected leaders. 

We'll equip you with the tools and confidence to use your political power to shape California's policy agenda and champion bills. You'll learn:

  • the basics of why it is critical your legislators hear from you,
  • how to be an effective advocate, and
  • how to actively participate in California's lawmaking process.

We will meet with legislators and their aides at the California State Capitol. Plan for a full day of training! IGNITE will be providing breakfast and lunch.

Important Logistics

Travel Assistance

IGNITE will pay for and arrange transportation to/from Sacramento from select cities in California. In the registration form, you can specify your travel needs. These are the options:

  • Flights from Ontario International Airport (ONT), John Wayne International Airport (SNA), Burbank (BUR), and San Diego International Airport (SAN)
  • Bus/Amtrak from Fresno and Oakland-San Francisco area

Venue

We will gather at Cafeteria 15L (1116 15th Street) for breakfast and opening sessions. From there, we will walk about three blocks to the California State Capitol Museum (1315 10th Street).

  • March 4, 2022: Registration deadline if IGNITE is booking your travel
  • March 4, 2022: Final date for large groups to register
  • March 4, 2022: Registration deadline if you are getting to Sacramento on your own

Keeping our community healthy

IGNITE's COVID Policy for in-person events: All IGNITE staff and onsite consultants are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. For event participants, attendees must either show proof of vaccination OR proof of a negative covid test taken no more than 72 hours prior to their arrival at the event. IGNITE requires all participants to wear a mask for the duration of the event and observe social distancing guidelines. Please note that these guidelines may change based on the venue, and well as local and state COVID-19 guidelines.
