Christine serves as Sr. Programs Director at IGNITE, developing the overall program strategy and leading national program initiatives.

Christine first became connected to IGNITE as a campus administrator at Mount Saint Mary’s, Los Angeles. In that role, she helped to host a Young Women’s Political Leadership Summit in Los Angeles in 2017.  She came to IGNITE in 2022 as West Coast Program Director and was since promoted to Senior Director of Programs.

Christine has been advocating for greater parity for elected positions for over a decade and has been training women to run since 2014. As an active parent leader and college educator, Christine Hernandez felt compelled to run for her local high school board in 2020 and 2022. She has served as a commissioner for both her city and county. In December of 2024, Christine will officially take on the role of trustee for the Huntington Beach Union High School Board of Trustees. She’ll be the first Latina ever  to serve on this board.

As the first in her household to go to college, Christine has made education a priority in her life and is a life-long learner. She received her bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from George Mason University, and a certificate in wellness coaching from Coastline Community College.

Christine is a parent to two kids - a nine year old daughter and an almost two year old son. She is based in Westminster, CA.
