Our Boards and Commissions Bootcamp is a four-week, self-paced online leadership program for young women interested in serving their communities.

If you want to learn about boards and commissions—what are they, what they do, how people get appointed to them, what makes a successful board member or commissioner—this training is for you.

As a Boards and Commissions Bootcamp participant, you will:

  • Complete four weeks of self-paced video lessons, reflections, and practical exercises through an online learning platform.
  • Learn about different types of boards and commissions, and identify a board or commission seat in your local community that matches with your interests.
  • Connect with IGNITE's network of young leaders from across the country—young women eager to make a difference, just like you.
  • Have the opportunity to attend live office hours with IGNITE staff and leaders from our network who can share their journeys to public office.
  • Earn a certificate of completion and gain skills you can highlight when you're applying to colleges or for jobs.

This program is open to all young women and gender-diverse youth residing in the United States.

Program Dates
The Boards and Commissions Bootcamp will take place from October 19 to November 15. Participants will complete weekly self-paced lessons and activities throughout the course of this program. Opportunities for live office hours and meet-and-greets with participants will be shared with students accepted into the program. The deadline for completing coursework for the certificate is November 30.

No experience necessary. This is for young women and gender-diverse youth who are curious, motivated, and ready to show up for their communities. Our training will give you the skills you need to take the next step in your leadership journey.
