Amanda R. Chapa serves as IGNITE’s Civics Program Organizer. In this position, she supports IGNITE’s programming and outreach efgorts, equippinn the leaders of tomorrow with the resources they need to succeed today. 

Amanda is a community organizer, advocate, and daughter from the Rio Grande Valley. While pursuing her undergraduate degree at Columbia University, she worked with local education nonprofits to close the gap for first-generation college students like her. She also advocated for reproductive justice and voting rights, working with IGNITE National and Rock the Vote. Since graduating, Amanda has continued pursuing her passion for community organizing, and has worked with organizations at the campaign and nonprofit level, including Mi Familia en Acción and States Win. 

Amanda is based in Rio Grande City, Texas.
