Ignite Welcomes Heather McLeod Grant and Anna Del Castillo to Its Board
IGNITE, America's largest, most diverse nonprofit organization devoted to young women's political empowerment, is proud to announce the addition of Anna Del Castillo and Heather McLeod Grant to its Board of Directors.

Anna Del Castillo (she/her/hers) is a Mississippian, Peruvian-Bolivian American, and healer who is innovating at the intersection of justice, politics, and healing. She serves as the Executive Director of Our Own Deep Wells, a social enterprise that is providing resources for healing and revolutionary love. Anna served in the Biden-Harris administration as the Deputy Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) for the White House. She received her Master of Divinity as a Dean’s Fellow at Harvard Divinity School where she studied public policy, racial justice, and healing. Anna's activism and belonging work has been honored with national fellowships and awards including the IGNITE National Fellowship, the Harvard Presidential Public Service Fellowship, and COLOR Magazine's 40 under 40. Anna dedicates her life to curating experiences for individual healing and collective action, believing that the combination of the two will lead to lasting social change.
Heather McLeod Grant (she/her/hers) is a philanthropy advisor, author and social entrepreneur with 30+ years of leadership in social impact. She is currently focused on working with ultra-high net wealth women donors and on unlocking more funding for climate change and democracy. Over the span of her career, Heather has advised some of the world’s top nonprofits, foundations, donors, and networks on scaling their impact. In 2015, she co-founded Open Impact–a national women-owned philanthropy advising firm in Silicon Valley–where she helped foundations and donors channel $10B+ to worthy causes. Heather is the co-author of the bestselling book Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High Impact Nonprofits. She grew up in Fresno, CA, has an MBA from Stanford University, an AB in social studies from Harvard, lives in Silicon Valley with her husband, and has a daughter in college.
