Debra is IGNITE's Director of Institutional Giving and has more than 15 years of expertise in grant writing, technical writing, curriculum writing, and teaching in the Education, Technology, and Nonprofit sectors. In 2008 Debra became a founding staff member of Year Up Bay Area (now Year Up San Francisco) where she helped ensure equitable access to meaningful employment in technology for young adults. More recently, Debra worked as a grant writing consultant before being enticed into a permanent role as Fundraising Lead of LitLab, where her efforts helped catapult kidappolis to national success. She enjoys deep funding research and lining up new, lucrative opportunities for growth for impactful mission-driven organizations as she did as Grants Manager at KQED, before relocating to Portland, Oregon with her family.
