Meet IGNITE alumna Euri Kim, a high school senior shaping civic education for millions of students across California!
In the spring of 2026, Euri was elected State President of the California Association of Student Councils for the 2026–27 term. Founded in 1947, the association is the state’s largest student-led leadership and advocacy organization, representing more than 5.8 million students.
From her new position, Euri has helped secure a $500,000 grant for new initiatives and created the OnBoard Fellowship program, which is designed to train high school students who serve as school district board members to influence district policies. She has also restructured the Student Advisory Board on Legislation in Education (SABLE) program to serve as a learning and advocacy platform where student leaders from across California can participate in statewide legislative advocacy.
Euri explains that her time with IGNITE—including as a participant at IGNITE the Capitol, an IGNITE the Vote Ambassador, and an IGNITE intern—has been instrumental in helping her achieve her success. During her time with IGNITE, she researched state legislation, learned how to read bills critically and how to follow procedural timelines, and coordinated logistics for IGNITE the Capitol in Sacramento.
Euri's term runs through 2026–27 and we look forward to following her continued work supporting student leadership across California.
